Pro-choice demonstrator at anti-abortion rally, Bellevue, October 4, 1992
Order an ImageIn this image, a pregnant demonstrator lifts a "pro-choice" sign in the middle of an anti-abortion rally in Bellevue. About 15,000 people lined Bellevue Way and other downtown Bellevue streets to show strong resolve nearly a year after state voters narrowly approved Initiative 120 in favor of abortion rights. According to the photographer's notes, the Issaquah woman "said it was 'very hard to be there,' but felt her opinion mattered too."
