Frederick & Nelson department store in downtown Seattle was a popular stopping point for authors and celebrities on book tours. In October 1972, chef and author James Beard appeared at Frederick & Nelson, giving a demonstration on the preparation of "Beef Salad" and signing copies of his book "American Cookery." This photo shows Beard during his cooking demonstration at Frederick & Nelson in Seattle.
