This image of Alexander Hamilton Intermediate School, at 1610 N 41st Street in Seattle, was taken upon or near completion of construction in January 1927. Hamilton was the first school building in Seattle to be designed specifically for intermediate (grades 7-8) education. Hamilton continues to operate as a middle school (grades 6-8), and has changed little in its exterior appearance. The decorative cast stone details on the building's exterior, visible in this view, were fabricated by the Pacific Stone Company, specializing in architectural cut cast stone, in their Ballard facility.
