Vernon C. Gorst, who previously had founded Pacific Air Transport in 1926, (which provided the first airmail service between Los Angeles and Seattle), established Gorst Air Transport sometime in the late 1920s. This photo shows the Keystone-Loening Amphibious "Air Yacht" provided service between Seattle and Bremerton. Gorst's "Air Ferry Line" provided hourly commuter flights between Seattle and Bremerton for two dollars each way, as well as "Taxiplane" services anywhere. In addition to passengers, the air service carried parcels, letters and small packages. The flight from Seattle to Bremerton took 12 minutes. The cabins could accommodate eight passengers comfortably. The company's general headquarters was located at Pier 3, the foot of Madison Street in Seattle, with facilities at Pier 2, at the foot of 2nd Street in Bremerton.
