Faulty compressor at Cedargreen plant, Seattle, August 11, 1952
Order an ImageOn August 12, 1952 twenty-three employees of the Cedargreen Frozen Pack Corporation were overcome by carbon monoxide fumes in a food packing room at the plant on 6000 Airport Way. The employees were taken to Harborview County Hospital for emergency care.
In this image, Police Patrolman Cliff Holmes inspects the air compressor engine in the food packing room, from which the carbon monoxide fumes had escaped.
