Employees at Cedargreen plant, Seattle, August 11, 1952
Order an ImageOn August 12, 1952 twenty-three employees of the Cedargreen Frozen Pack Corporation were overcome by carbon monoxide fumes in a food packing room at the plant on 6000 Airport Way. The employees were taken to Harborview County Hospital for emergency care.
In this image three employees stand beside a machine at the plant where their co-workers had been exposed to carbon monoxide gas. The three women, who were not subjected to the gas, are identified as, from left, Eva Hoffert, Vimi Martini, and Elsie Jacobson.
