On June 12 and 13, 1970, the Seattle All-American Indian Dancers held a fashion show at the Pacific Science Center. The event showcased traditional Indigenous dress and dancing, as well as modern clothing influenced by Indigenous designs. Proceeds from the fashion show were used to support the Kinatechitapi clinic, a free clinic that served Seattle’s Indigenous population. Kinatechitapi is a Blackfoot word meaning ‘all Indians’, and the clinic later became the Seattle Indian Health Board.
