Order an ImageThe National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a volunteer and social organization that focuses on helping women, children, and families. The NCJW was founded in 1893 in Chicago and the Seattle section was founded in 1900. Over its history, the Seattle section of the NCJW has built a center to help recent immigrants with education and employment and a home for seniors with limited income. It has also set up projects to support victims of domestic abuse and people experiencing homelessness.
In this photo, Mrs. Lee Ross is dramatizing the "Shower of Flowers" theme for the annual luncheon of the Seattle section. The luncheon raised funds to help support the organization's services.
