Seattle-Everett Interurban Car 53, February 6, 1939

Order an Image
Nearly 30 years of electric trolley service between Seattle and Everett ended on February 21, 1939. Cars 51 and 53 made the last run. Adding to the sense of nostalgia, the cars were dispatched by Robert Meredith, who had been the conductor on the line's first run on May 1, 1910.

This photo of Seattle-Everett Interurban Railway Car 53 on a wooded stretch of track was taken in early February 1939, just a few weeks before service ended.
