The Kappa Alpha Theta sorority celebrated its 89th anniversary in 1955 with a luncheon at the Georgian Room of the Olympic Hotel, with members and alumnae throughout Washington state attending. The program featured a panel discussion on "Women in Our World Today," with three international students from the University of Washington as speakers: Christine Sander of Sweden, Maria Portsidou of Greece, and Padmini Vasishth of India.
