Husky Stadium, built in 1920, sits on the southeastern edge of the University of Washington campus and originally had a dirt field. This photo shows stadium filled with 35,000 fans watching the Huskies open their 1945 Pacific Coast Conference football season under sunny skies. The Huskies won the game against the University of Oregon Webfoots with a score of 20-6.
