When World War II gas rationing forced The Ranch on Highway 99 to close, the owners opened The Town Ranch at Eighth Avenue and Pine Street. The Town Ranch was known as "Seattle's theatre cafe." A notice of floor show dancing is inside the menu. A drawing of a cowboy roping a steer illustrates the Western theme.
