Contact MOHAI to OrderInterview with Mildred and Parker Cook conducted by Lorraine McConaghy for the Life on the Homefront Oral History Project on December 6, 1984. In the interview, they discuss Garfield High School's response to the attack at Pearl Harbor, the incarceration of Japanese American students from Garfield after the attack, shifts in the African American community during the war, and curriculum changes at Garfield during the war. Mr. Cook was a music teacher at Garfield High School between 1928 and 1971.
