Contact MOHAI to OrderRobert McAusland was a twelve-year old boarding at Lakeside School on the day the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. In this interview conducted by Lorraine McConaghy for the Life on the Homefront Oral History Project on December 17, 1984, McAusland recalls airplanes, the camouflaged Boeing plant, and the airplane crash at Frye Packing Plant. He speaks about youth culture during the war and Seattle demographic geography. He talks about the impact of rationing and rumors on youth.
