The Seattle Community Baseball League was founded in 1926, as a semi-professional league of eight teams. The inaugural teams were the West Seattle Athletic Club, Georgetown Merchants, Fremont Community Club, Alki Merchants, Mercer Athletic Club, Rainier Valley Merchants, and South Park Merchants. Ballard was offered a team, but could not put one together, so Interbay was given the eighth slot. The League continued on into the 1940s.

This 1927 program for the Beacon Hill Merchants Baseball Team in the Seattle Community Baseball League lists teams in Georgetown, Alki, Greenlake, Fremont, Greenwood Phinney, White Center, Beacon Hill, and West Seattle playing 14 weekly games from May 1st through August 14st. The program consists of four pages of advertisements, with the 1927 schedule, and small sections for recording the home team and visiting team stats.
