Order an ImageIn 1893-1894, King County built a hospital at the County Poor Farm, on the Duwamish River. At this facility, doctors and nurses cared for those sick and injured county residents who could not afford to pay. By 1915, the hospital had expanded into a new brick addition. The King County Hospital remained at this site until the 1930s, when Harborview Hospital opened.
