Ballard High School, Seattle, circa 1914
Order an ImageThe first high school program in Ballard began in this building, which was known as Central School. For several years, the building housed grades 1 through 12. After Ballard was annexed into the city of Seattle, the school was renamed Ballard High School. A new Ballard High opened in 1916, and this building became an elementary school. It was located at 5308 Tallman Avenue, where Swedish Hospital at Ballard now stands.
