Eagles Hall, Seattle, circa 1909
Order an ImageIn February 1898, a group of Seattle Theater owners met to discuss business and ended up founding a new organization - the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Like many other fraternal organizations, the group provided members with medical and funeral benefits, before these became widely available. This early Eagles Hall was located on the southwest corner of 7th and Pine. The much grander Eagles Temple was constructed in 1923 at 7th and Union.
