Order an ImageSeattle's Armory opened in April 1909. For many years the National Guard held drills and stored equipment in the Armory. It was also used for indoor track meets and other large public events.
This photo shows the Armory in about 1909. It was located on the waterfront at Western Avenue and Lenora Street, one block north of the Public Market. The Armory was torn down in 1968.
