Steamship "Minnesota," circa 1910
Order an ImageWhen it was launched in 1903, the "Minnesota" was the largest ocean liner of its time. It was built for the Great Northern Railway Company, and carried passengers and freight between Seattle and various Asian ports. The ship's fastest trip between Yokohama and Puget Sound was 11 days, 20 hours, and 35 minutes.
