Woodland Park drive, circa 1912
Order an ImageThe area of Woodland Park was logged before 1890, but loggers left the "smaller" trees--everything six feet in diameter or less. In 1912, visitors could walk or ride west through the woods to the Woodlands Hotel. From there, a buggy road ran to Green Lake.
In this photo, taken around 1912, several visitors walk along the drive through the big trees in Woodland Park.
