The construction of Cleveland High School on Maple Hill in 1927 gave Georgetown and south Seattle residents a six-grade junior-senior high school in their own neighborhood. When the new school opened, transferring students paraded up the hill from their old school carrying their books. This photo shows the new Cleveland High School on top of Maple Hill.
