Order an ImageIn September 1905, John Hay School opened on Boston Street in Seattle's Queen Anne Hill neighborhood. There were 325 students in grades one through seven. The John Hay School building later housed an alternative school, and in 2010 was renamed Queen Anne Elementary. It is one of Seattle's few remaining wooden buildings designed by school district architect James Stephen.
