The tallest landmarks in Seattle in the early 1930s were the Northern Life Tower, now the Seattle Tower (left), the neighboring Telephone Building, and the Exchange Building (far right). The twin bell towers of St. James Cathedral can be seen to the left of the Exchange Building. An auto ferry waits next to Colman Dock (right foreground).
