The Highlands is a private gated community founded in 1907 just north of Seattle on Puget Sound. Designed by the Olmsted Brothers, the community became home to many of Seattle's wealthiest families. In 1995 the community became part of Shoreline.

This photo shows a pond on the grounds of Mrs. J.F. Douglass's home.
