Kristoferson's Dairy Plant, Seattle, circa 1930
Order an ImageSwedish immigrants Alfred and Alberta Kristoferson moved to Washington in the late 1800s to start a dairy. Son August Kristoferson soon took the reins of the dairy business after his father's death in 1914. The Kristoferson dairy plant was at 1300 Rainier Avenue. In addition to the large billboard on the plant's roof, the firm's entry in the 1930 Polk's Seattle City Directory promotes the company's "Perfectly Pasteurized Milk and Cream."
