The University Methodist Temple has a history that traces back to 1891 when a group of Methodists met in the Latona School to plan Sunday School classes. The church had several temporary homes and a small chapel at N.E. 42nd and Brooklyn Ave. N.E. until 1927, when this impressive structure was built at 15th Ave. N.E. and N.E. 43rd St.
