Frye Hotel, circa 1926
Order an ImageSeattle's economy boomed in the years following 1900. In 1911, local businessman George Frye completed the Frye Hotel to cater to businessmen and other visitors who sometimes stayed for extended periods of time. The building is located on Yesler Way at Third Avenue South in the heart of the downtown area. It was converted to low-income housing in the early 1970s.
