Order an Image
St. Nicholas School opened in 1910. It taught boys and girls in the lower grades, and girls only at the high school level. St. Nicholas merged with Lakeside School in 1971. Its old building on Capitol Hill is now occupied by the Cornish School for the Arts.

In this photo, the girls, teachers, and staff of St. Nicholas School sit on the lawn for their school picture. The students are wearing typical 1920s school uniforms consisting of a sailor-style middy blouse and a dark skirt.
