Eagles Auditorium Building, Seattle, circa 1926

Order an Image
In February 1898, a group of Seattle theater owners met to discuss business and ended up founding a new organization - the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Like many other fraternal organizations, the group provided members with medical and funeral benefits, before these became widely available.

In 1924, Eagles Aerie #1 built an elegant new lodge on Seventh Avenue at Union Street in downtown Seattle. The building was renovated in 1995, and as of 2025 houses the Act Theatre.
