Order an ImageIn 1920, a three-story brick schoolhouse opened to accommodate the growing number of students in Maple Valley, Washington. All grades attended classes here until Tahoma High School opened in 1926 to serve students in the Taylor, Hobart, and Maple Valley communities.
This photo, taken sometime in the 1920s, shows the Maple Valley School. In 1994, the building was declared a city historical landmark. The Maple Valley Historical Society Museum is located on the third floor, sharing the building with several school district offices.
