Order an ImageWhen Seattle's Music Hall Theatre opened in 1929, it was called the Mayflower Theatre. It had 2,600 seats and elaborate decor, and it presented movies, lectures, concerts, plays, and vaudeville shows. Business began to fall off in the 1960s, with the start of television and the growth of the suburbs. Even Broadway musicals, ice shows, dinner theater, and Las Vegas revues couldn't save the theater. The Music Hall was torn down in 1991-1992.
