The streets of First Avenue are lined with spectators of the Memorial Day parade which began at First Avenue and Pine Street. Various active members of the military marched in the parade, as well as veterans of the Civil War, Spanish-American War, and the Sons of the American Revolution. In the foreground, a group of African American men and children carry an American flag into which several bouquets of flowers have been tossed.
