Washington Sheet Metal Works was founded in 1907 by W. H. Perry, Oscar Witt, and G. L. Long. The company manufactured metal heating and ventilating equipment, along with cornices, skylights, and windows. By 1911, George J. Long and Isaac A. McVay would take over as president and treasurer, respectively, and would remain so for most of the company's history. Long passed away in 1934 and the company closed shortly after McVay's death in 1937.
This receipt from October 28, 1913 to H. W. Dye, who was in real estate, is for a chimney top on Westlake Hotel. The printed receipt includes an illustration of their logo, one of their furnaces, and their store at 1913-1915-1917 Seventh Avenue.
