Featuring an image of Paul Bunyan on the front, this small cookbook was published by Seattle Restaurant Food Supply, led by Walter F. Clark. Clark was a Seattle restauranteur and nationally acclaimed for putting Seattle on the food map. The legendary Paul Bunyan inspired the recipes in this booklet, and also had a prominent place at the Seattle World's Fair, where Clark's restaurants famously worked with local bakers to create "Paul Bunyan's Birthday Cake," which at the time was the largest cake ever created. Guests at the fair could purchase a slice of the cake, or have one sent home.

This small cookbook is printed on the back with "souvenir edition" and space for a mailing address, and may have been a souvenir from the Seattle World's Fair. In addition to "Bunyan Tales and Food for Males," this volume contains a slang guide solving such logging camp mysteries as "Skid grease - butter" and "Baa in the rain - mutton stew." Also included are camp cooking recipes such as "Tall Timber Stew," with the story that the "Original recipe for 1200 gallons of Tall Timber Stew calls for 200 pounds of fat hens, one dozen squirrels to each 100 gallons." Fortunately, the family-sized recipes calls only for beef.
