Lucinda F. "Lucy" (Kinkead) Lyon (1849-1932) came to Seattle with her husband, Colonel George G Lyon (1841-1902), who was a member of Territorial Governor Watson C. Squire's staff from 1884-1887. A wealthy and prominent leader of society, Lucy was a founding trustee of the Seattle Historical Society (SHS, now MOHAI) in 1914.
This portrait of Lucy was taken in Seattle when she was about 50 years old.
