Between 1910 and 1926, the Ford Slope Mine was one of the most productive mines in the Newcastle/Coal Creek area. This photo shows the buildings at the top of Ford Slope Mine sometime between 1912 and 1918. The large building near the five tall smokestacks is the steam plant which powered the mine pumps and generators. Other buildings house the mine hoist.
