Columbia & Puget Sound Railroad depot, Renton, circa 1915

The Seattle & Walla Walla Railroad was extended as far as Renton in 1877 and started carrying coal to Seattle. The railroad built the depot building two years later. The Columbia & Puget Sound Railroad and, later, the Pacific Coast Coal Company took over the railroad line, including the Renton station. This photo shows the depot around 1915. The building was torn down in 1953.
