Dance card for the 11th Annual Ball, Printing Press Assistants Union No. 59, December 17, 1914
Contact MOHAI to OrderIn December 1914, members of Local 59 of the Seattle Printing Press Assistants Union and others in the printing trades gathered for the local’s Eleventh Annual Ball. Some 150 couples enjoyed the evening’s reception and dance at Eagle’s Hall.
Dance cards for the event listed some twenty dances, from the opening two-step to the unnamed “third extra.” Women could list the names of their prospective dancing partners in the blank by each dance. The small hole near the upper edge would have allowed a small pencil to be attached to the card. The names of union officers and event committee members are listed on the back of the card.
