For more than a century, Junior League members have confronted society’s most pressing issues and tackled its toughest problems, leaving an unrivaled legacy of reform. Since its inception in 1923, members of the Junior League of Seattle (JLS) have worked to improve our community through mission-driven projects and hands-on work with many Community Partners.

Some JLS projects included entertainment for children. In May 1934, the JLS Players performed two children’s plays at the home of Charles D. and Harriet Stimson in The Highlands. In “The Golden Ball”, (left to right) Mrs. George Powell played The Footman, Meda (Mrs. Wallace) Collins played The King, and Helen (Mrs. J. Willis) Jones played The Frog. Genevieve (Mrs. Chapin) Henry and Mrs. L. Ausies de Turenne played sisters Alicia and Cecelia.
