Kathryn Elizabeth Tesack (1906-1999) was born in Nome, Alaska, to John Anthony Tesack (1874-1960) and Mame Elizabeth Tesack (d. 1955). John owned a grocery store in Seattle from at least 1920-1940. Kathryn attended UW from 1926-1928, and in 1935 married Walter Henry Williams (1899-1992), in Nanjing, China, where their son John Walter Olding Williams was born in 1936. After Walter's retirement from the State Department, Kathryn and Walter returned to Seattle.
Thelma R. Rydeen (1905-2005) was born in Candle, Alaska, to Almer Rydeen (1878-1964), gold miner and member of the Alaska Territorial Legislature. Thelma's mother died before 1910, and she was raised on Mercer Island by her uncle and aunt. She attended Garfield High School, became a nurse, and in 1931 married Boris V. Glazounow (1904-1992).
