The Hotel Ramona, shown here on the northeast corner of First Avenue and Seneca Street, catered to a middle and working-class clientèle. This was one of many hotels that were built on First Avenue from 1884 until 1910, after the 1883 arrival of the Northern Pacific link to the transcontinental railroad made travel to Seattle much easier. This building is no longer standing.
