This view of the northeast corner of Second Avenue and University Street in downtown includes the Walker Building. Cyrus Walker (1827-1913), an executive with the Puget Mill Company, built this commercial investment property in 1903. The building was demolished in the late 1980s and since 1998 the site has been occupied by the Seattle Symphony's Benaroya Hall. The building material and debris blocking University Street to the north seems to indicate that the street was under construction at the time of the photo.
