This image was taken during construction of the U. S. Courthouse, Custom House, and Post Office building, also known as the Federal Building, located on the southeast corner of Third Avenue and Union Street. This Beaux-Arts inspired building was the first permanent home of the Seattle Post Office and was used until a replacement was built in 1958 at the same location.
This photograph is one of 113 in a series documenting this construction project from December 1903-May 1909.
