Rasmus Peter Jensen immigrated to Seattle in 1889 and homesteaded in the West of Woodland Park district (now the West Woodland neighborhood). He was a carpenter by trade and operated both a construction business and a general store out of his home. Mr. Jensen married Marie E. D. Hansen in 1892 and they had two children, Anna C. Jensen (1894-1912) and Nathalia Matilda Jensen (1898-1971). The family home, built in 1893, still stands at the corner of Fourth Avenue NW and NW 60th Street and is a Seattle Historical Site.
The Seattle Public Schools Quarterly Report, or report card, pictured here was issued by West Woodland School teacher Maria Christina Petronella "May" (de Crane) Zubli (1887-1984) to eighth grade student Nathalia Jensen, and signed by Nathalia's father, R. P. Jensen. Nathalia left school either during or after eighth grade, and later became an operator for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company (later Pacific Bell Telephone Company).
