Augustine & Kyer was an upscale grocery business with deep roots in Seattle. In 1907, Augustine & Kyer became the very modern “Pure Food Purveyors.” H. A. Kyer became president with J. W. Augustine as vice-president. They remodeled and expanded their Colman Building location at 815 First Avenue into what they described as the largest grocery on the Pacific Coast outside of San Francisco, almost an acre of floor space.
