The Gayway was the space-oriented amusement zone at the Seattle World's Fair, offering 20 rides which were either brand new or especially redone for the Fair. George K. Whitney, one of the men charged with developing the Gayway, grew up working at his family's amusement park in San Francisco, and spent two years as director of rides and development at Disneyland.
