Order an ImageBoeing’s Model 80 commercial transport airplane was the first Boeing plane designed specifically with passenger comfort in mind. Along with the mail, the first Model 80 carried 12 passengers in a spacious cabin with leather upholstery, reading lamps, ventilation and hot and cold running water. The larger Model 80-A, pictured here, and made its first flight on September 12, 1929, and could carry 18 people.
