The Boeing Model 40x biplane was descended from the 1925 Model 40 mail plane. The 40x was a special-order machine similar to Model 40C, with a two-passenger cabin and extra open cockpit forward of pilot's cockpit. The plane pictured here has the words "Associated Oil Co." painted on the body and across the top wing.
