Born in Brooklyn, Olive Marion (Graef) Treat (1869-1945) married real estate developer Harry Whitney Treat (1865-1922) in 1896 in Tarrytown, New York. The couple moved to Seattle in about 1904, shortly after the death of her father, Charles Graef (1833-1902). The Treats' Queen Anne Hill mansion and Loyal Heights farm were the center of much of Seattle's social life, and the Treats, along with their daughters Priscilla Grace (Treat) Van Sickler (1902-1979) and Loyal Graef (Treat) Nichols (1906-2004), were colorful high society figures in the burgeoning city.
